G.O.A.L.S., Inc. is a foundation dedicated to helping spinal cord injured people better access the non-handicapped environment. To this end, we are interested in working with agencies and advocacy groups to identify individuals who may be in need of assistance.
As a small organization, G.O.A.L.S., Inc. cannot possibly meet the many funding requests we receive each year. Therefore, in an effort to reach as many worthy applicants as possible, our funding procedures will be as follows:
- An application must be submitted with an explanation that funds are requested to meet a mobility-related need.
- Applicants must provide a quote or cost estimate from a vendor for the equipment, material or device needed.
- Applicants must be willing to discuss their financial or insurance situation.
- Applicants must agree to allow G.O.A.L.S., Inc. to share their experiences and use their photographs for promotional purposes.
- Requests for recreational equipment will only receive 50% of the total cost.
Funding decisions will be made quarterly, except in cases involving unusual circumstances. Individuals are encouraged to raise funds themselves for their project - before, during and after the application process. G.O.A.L.S., Inc. will gladly assist with any and all fundraising projects, initiated by the applicant.
A word about vans. As mentioned, we are a small organization and, as
such, cannot fund the entire cost of a handicapped van; new or used. If a
van is needed, the applicant must locate a suitable vehicle and arrange
terms. We might, then, be able to help with a modest downpayment. Again, we
cannot fund the total cost of a van; new or used. Please find an acceptable
van and then contact us.
Below is an application for anyone in need of assistance in gaining accessibility to activities outside the home or for individuals who could profit from a recreational outing. Grant recipients must fit the stated criteria. The applications, leaflets and other materials may be copied as necessary.
